Not so many years ago....
I received my teaching license. Five long years of dividing my energies between
college and motherhood were behind me. I was ready for a great job in a great school.
I marched off to the local school administration office, resume in hand, confident
that my hard work and scholastic ardor would soon be rewarded. In my dreams, I could
see the cherubic faces of my future students as I lovingly guided them to enlightenment.
'In My Dreams' Was Right!!!
Instead of getting a contract and a classroom,
I got a telephone number for the
Sub Office!
For the next six semesters I was "waiting for the call" each morning to find out my FATE Du JOUR!
Sometimes the students were honeys, sometimes
weren't!
That was then...this is now (thank heaven!)
Now my days fly by working with some of the smartest people I've ever met! We're
